In 1964, Marathon Motors began selling cars under its own name.

Budget Car Rental was founded in 1957 by Les Moran, who had previously worked as a salesman for Avis. He set up shop in his hometown of Los Angeles and rented cars to movie stars like Frank Sinatra and Elizabeth Taylor. But it wasn’t until 1964 that Marathon Motors began selling cars under its own name–and that’s when things really took off!

The Rise of The Chain with a Franchise System: When Les Moran first started Budget Rent A Car Corporation back in 1957, he didn’t have much experience with running a business or managing employees; so instead he decided to hire other people who did know how (like himself) so he could focus on growing his company instead of worrying about day-to-day operations or HR issues like payroll taxes etcetera… This concept worked well enough when there were only four locations opened nationwide; however once expansion began happening rapidly during 1970s & 1980s things got complicated quickly because now there were dozens upon dozens locations across America alone let alone all over world including Europe Asia Australia etcetera…

The Rise of the Chain with a Franchise System

When you think of Budget Car Rental, you probably think of its famous tagline: “Budget: It’s the best.” The company was founded in 1957 by Morris Mirkin and Robert Moore. In 2000, Avis Budget Group acquired Budget and made it part of their brand. Budget Car Rental’s international expansion began in the early 1980s.
